Our Goal
LAMBDA is a non-profit* business organization for business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs and the community at large. Its goal is to provide an environment of success for the Lesbian, Gay, Transexual, Bisexual and gay-friendly business community through the exchange of ideas, information and resources. LAMBDA is a forum for the business community to develop relationships within the Las Vegas lesbian, gay transexual, and bisexual community through networking, mixers, special events, the Lambda Business Association website and online directory.

Our Name
The word "Lambda" is the 11th letter of the Greek alphabet. For many years, the word "Lambda", and the lower case symbol of the Greek letter, have been associated with and used by the LGBT community. Here are some articles with more information about its meaning and use.

Networking
LAMBDA offers a number of great opportunities to network. These are scheduled at different times and days to give members a chance to participate that fit many different schedules.
Some of these are:
- The monthly Lambda community business luncheons (every 2nd Wednesday of the month). In addition to the informal networking before, during and after lunch, during the luncheon, Lambda members are able to introduce themselves and talk briefly about their business. Usually, between 75 and 90 people (members and non-members) attend the monthly luncheons.
- The many business expos and community events throughout the year at which Lambda participates and has a booth. Without any charge, members are able to participate at the Lambda booth by talking to event attendees about Lambda and their own businesses.
- The other events which Lambda sponsors or in which Lambda participates.
And, as importantly, at both the monthly luncheons and the other Lambda events, members are able to place their business cards and/or other marketing materials in the "give-away" bags that are given to the attendees.
Of course, the Members that experience the most success are those that consistently attend events, share ideas, information and leads.

The Directory
LAMBDA publishes its Member Business Directory both online on the Lambda website, as well as within the Las Vegas Gay & Lesbian Community Yellow Pages (GYP). All Lambda members receive a free listing in the Lambda website Directory and the Gay & Lesbian Community Yellow Pages, as well as substantial discounts on display advertising in the GYP.
The Lambda website directory is searchable by member name, business, key-word and business category. Also included in the Lambda directory are social, support, religious, special-interest and political organizations.

Special Events
LAMBDA coordinates and participates in many special events each year to help Members grow their businesses, provide networking opportunities in the community and to be an example of UNITY in the community. The Southern Nevada Pride Event is one of our favorites.

Community Service
LAMBDA actively supports the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community, creating a feeling of unity, pride and a sense of visibility.
Regional Networking
Western Business Alliance. LAMBDA is a member of the Western Business Alliance (WBA), a consortium of gay and lesbian business chambers that serves the Gay, Lesbian and supportive business organizations of the Western United States and Canada by facilitating the exchange of ideas, resources and information.
All LAMBDA Memberships are calendar based and are valid one year from the date you join.
Regular Membership - New or Renewing - $125.00
For Members who intend to network in the organization and to advertise in the annual Directory and on the Lambda Online Directory. Includes a listing (one category) in the printed (see below) and online directories. Lambda members receive one free three line listing in the Las Vegas Gay & Yellow Pages directory and a discount for additional lines or display advertising in the directory. Regular Membership includes voting privileges and the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.
Additional Member Owned Business - New or Renewing - $100.00
Same as Regular Membership for a member owned additional business.
Associate Membership - New or Renewing - $85.00
For members who already work for or with a regular business member, or who are individuals who do not represent a business or organization. This level of membership provides the opportunity to network in the organization, and support the community. For Associate Members who work for a business or organization, a listing under the Regular Member will be included in the Lambda online and print directory, Associate members who do not represent a business or organization will receive a separate listing in the Lambda Directory under Community Supporters. Associate Membership includes voting privileges and the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.
Community Organizations - $25.00
Non-profit organizations, community based organizations or groups may be listed in the Lambda directory. Community Organizations may also join as Associate Members with all the rights and privileges thereof.
